Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support our finance team. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing accounting support to the Director of Finance by handling daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, account reconciliations, reporting, documentation; and period end closing processes. Essential attributes for this role are: accuracy with numbers, attention to detail, consistency, timeliness, and the ability to analyze, organize and utilize information from a variety of sources.
salary: $28 - $29 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities
- Accurately enter and maintain financial data within the accounting system.
- Prepare, review, and organize accounting documents and records.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Verify invoices and ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies or documentation issues.
- Assist with month-end activities and ad-hoc accounting projects.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and employee information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and workflows.
- Serve as backup for interrelated administrative functions.
- Participate in training related to products, processes, procedures and organizational initiatives.
- Monitor, maintain, document and report compliance initiatives.
- Assist in the development, implementation, maintenance and management of administrative processes and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Maintain complete security and confidentiality of all Company records and employee data.
