Job Details: Job Schedule: Varies Weekly Hours: 30-40 Salary Range: $18.50-$23.00 *It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Job Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality meals for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with established menus, dietary requirements, and food safety standards. This position ensures all food is prepared and presented to meet quality standards for taste, texture, appearance, and temperature, while adhering to sanitation and infection control guidelines. The Cook plays a key role in supporting the nutritional well-being and satisfaction of residents through safe, efficient, and compassionate food service. Responsibilities include preparing and portioning food items according to standardized recipes and production schedules; maintaining proper labeling, storage, and handling of all food products; and performing cleaning and sanitation duties to ensure a safe and organized kitchen environment. The Cook accurately documents temperatures and food safety measures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires proficiency in operating a variety of kitchen equipment, including mixers, slicers, ovens, grills, fryers, kettles, and food processors. The Cook must demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills, the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate works independently with attention to detail, demonstrates strong time management, and applies sound knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and basic culinary mathematics. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods and the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position within a long-term care environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Serv Safe may be required to obtain within a designated time frame. Warroad Senior Living Center is an EEO/AA Employer.
