Job Description and Duties

This position is located in the city of Sacramento.

This position offers a meaningful opportunity to join a committed, professional team within DOR’s OCR. The role directly supports the Department’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program and contributes to civil rights compliance and equitable workplace practices. Under the general direction of the OCR Chief, this position:

• Supports efforts to prevent discrimination

• Administers the Department’s complaint processes

• Conducts timely, thorough investigations

• Recommends appropriate action when discrimination is found

Working Conditions

The majority of the work will take place in one of the following locations with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders: a DOR open office setting in a cubicle environment, offsite in the community, at events and various partner locations, and/or at an approved alternate work location. The incumbent must have the ability to work in an office setting for up to 40 hours per week and remain at a workstation for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer, peripherals, and other office equipment with or without accommodation. The incumbent will be working in an office setting with both natural and artificial lighting. Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

2. Describe your knowledge of state and federal civil rights laws, regulations, and authorities, and how you have applied this knowledge in the workplace.

4. Describe your experience implementing workplace policies and procedures.

5. Explain how you would orient yourself to this role and build credibility with team members, management, and those you serve.
