Job Title: Marine Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to perform a variety of maintenance and technical support tasks related to shipboard systems, integrated systems, and associated equipment. The role requires troubleshooting and repairing various shipboard systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs, testing, and maintenance of AC&R systems and air compressors.
• Manage multiple jobs, schedule work, and prepare technical reports and controlled work packages.
• Perform quality inspections and complete installation or work assignments outside specialty areas when needed.
• Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
• Apply comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
• Develop and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports, and task or trip reports.

Essential Skills

• Experience with marine ship repair, valves, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diesel engines.
• High School diploma or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing structural and mechanical systems and associated equipment.
• Proficiency in using various power tools and measurement devices.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals.
• Knowledge of safety and quality control steps and procedures.

Work Environment

Work at Huntington Ingalls, where the role involves hands-on tasks in a dynamic shipboard environment. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and may involve varying shift hours.

This is a Contract position based out of Hampton, VA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
