Job Description

Production Planner/Scheduler

Typical base salary range: $70,000 to $90,000 (DOE)

We are looking for an energetic Production Planner/Scheduler who thrives in a fast-paced and ever evolving environment. In this role you will plan, review, and maintain production schedules in support of manufacturing operations. You will work in a hybrid lean/traditional manufacturing environment and develop short-term (1–5 day) schedules that effectively balance the workload of existing resources.

You will be joining a team with over 100 years of combined experience in the metal finishing industry, and we work with customers that build a variety of products including, but not limited to, rifle scopes, paintball guns and knives. Our work takes place at our newly remodeled facility in Tualatin, Oregon.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Production Planner/Scheduler :

  • Reviews and makes recommendations on scheduling and capacity planning matters.
  • Schedules short-term workload for at least 3-4 distinct production processes, including monitoring delivery and coordinating expedite activities.
  • Identifies and communicates delays, recommends resolution options, and actively engages in execution.
  • Reviews, accurately reports, and maintains production part requirements and related information.
  • Reviews resource loads and makes recommendations regarding overtime requirements.
  • Monitors aging travelers and provides priority lists to production.
  • Assists with general material handling duties for priority projects/orders.
  • Maintains and contributes to a safe working environment.
  • Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience You’ll Need as a Production Planner/Scheduler:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or related field is preferred, and 3-5+ years of manufacturing or supply chain related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.
  • General ERP system experience required. System implementation/integration experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general PC skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent customer service abilities.
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload effectively.

Work Environment for a Production Planner/Scheduler:

Work is performed in a normal office environment with occasional exposure to the manufacturing environment.
