Job Summary

 

The quality inspector is responsible for inspecting plastic injection molded parts to ensure they meet customer and internal quality requirements. This role supports daily production by performing in-process and final inspections, documenting results, identifying nonconforming products, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Work cell set-up with proper work instructions, quality documents, and product labels.

     

  • Inspect molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, and burns.

     

  • Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections per control plans and work instructions

     

  • Use inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, Go/No-go fixtures, and visual standards

     

  • Conduct basic functional and fit checks as required

     

  • Record inspection results accurately on inspection sheets

     

  • Communicate defects and trends to operators, process technicians, and supervisors

     

  • Assist with corrective action documentation when required

     

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

     

  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area

     

  • Properly handle and store inspected materials

     

  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

 

Job Requirements

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent walking/standing
  • Work is performed in an industrial production setting
