Careerscape is recruiting a Remote Business Analyst for our client — a fast-scaling technology company based in NJ. This 100% remote opportunity is ideal for a thoughtful, organized professional who loves sitting at the intersection of business and technology — listening to stakeholders, mapping processes, and shaping clear requirements that engineering teams can actually build from.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with business stakeholders to uncover, capture, and prioritize what they actually need — functional and non-functional
• Turn high-level business goals into well-structured user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process diagrams
• Run workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions across departments to pull requirements into focus
• Dig into current business processes, identify friction points, and propose smarter ways of working
• Build and maintain process documentation — flowcharts, swim lane diagrams, and standard operating procedures
• Partner with product managers, engineers, QA, and designers throughout the full software delivery cycle
• Help drive user acceptance testing by writing test cases, coordinating users, and triaging findings
• Perform current-state vs. future-state gap analysis on processes and systems
• Analyze data to support business cases, ROI modeling, and roadmap decisions
• Keep project artifacts organized and current in Jira, Confluence, Asana, or Azure DevOps
• Support change management — training content, release notes, and stakeholder communications
• Act as the connective tissue between business users and technical teams, keeping everyone aligned from kickoff through launch

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, or in a comparable role
• Strong skills in requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management
• Comfort with tools like Jira, Confluence, Asana, or Azure DevOps
• Hands-on with diagramming tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro
• Working SQL skills for querying databases and validating data
• Solid Excel or Google Sheets chops — pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas
• Experience working inside Agile and Scrum teams, including backlog refinement and sprint ceremonies
• Track record supporting UAT — writing test cases and coordinating user testing cycles
• Exposure to BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker is a plus
• Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or Scrum are a plus
• Strong written and verbal communicator — able to move fluidly between business and technical audiences
• Self-sufficient in a remote setup and able to juggle priorities across multiple projects
