Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Interventional/Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiology, cardiovascular, and radiology procedures. This role includes monitoring patients during angiography, cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) procedures. The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality care, utilizing knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and specialized radiology equipment. A minimum of 2 years' experience in an interventional cath lab is required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care during interventional cardiology and radiology procedures including angiography, cardiac catheterization, and pacemaker/IABP insertion.
• Monitor patients using hemodynamic monitoring techniques throughout procedures.
• Operate and maintain knowledge of specialized radiology and imaging equipment including Sensis and Siemens labs.
• Document patient care and procedural details accurately using Meditech EMR system.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care.
• Respond to patient needs during procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain knowledge of diagnostic imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine.
• Participate in on-call rotation providing coverage 1-2 days per week, including weekends and holidays.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an interventional cath lab setting.
• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiology and radiology procedures.
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and specialized cath lab equipment.
• Experience with electronic medical record documentation (Meditech preferred).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Familiarity with Computerized Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine procedures.
• Experience with Siemens and Sensis lab equipment.
• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.

Special Considerations:

• Required to participate in on-call rotation approximately 1-2 days per week, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity interventional cardiac and vascular environment.
• Call team consists of 4 members providing coverage for procedures and emergencies.

Scheduling:

• Day shifts with varied start times, either 8 or 10 hours per shift.
• 40 hours per week scheduled.
• On-call duties approximately 1-2 days weekly and every 2-3 weekends, including holidays.
