Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown / Cardiovascular Unit (Nights)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cardiovascular RN provides specialized care for cardiac and stepdown patients using advanced clinical judgment and monitoring skills. This unit manages a high-acuity cardiovascular population including post-operative open-heart patients, congestive heart failure cases, electrophysiology studies, and interventional cardiology procedures.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver stepdown and cardiovascular nursing care for complex cardiac patients.

• Monitor and manage post-procedural and post-operative cardiac patients.
• Care for patients undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, pacemakers, and electrophysiology studies.
• Provide care for open-heart surgery patients during recovery.
• Utilize cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation skills.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to similar units as needed.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown experience required.
• Cardiac proficiency required.
• Previous travel experience required.
• EKG competency required.
• Must be willing to float to similar units.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS & LICENSES:

• Skills checklist completed within 1 year required for RN specialties.
• Active Michigan RN license required.
• License verification through LARA and Nursys required.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
