Unit Description: McClure 6 is one of three University of Vermont Medical Center, General Medicine Units. We care for patients with acute and chronic multi-system health needs. Our specialties include elder care (including delirium prevention), respiratory disease, renal and dialysis patients (UVMMC is the only hospital in Vermont that accommodates in-patient dialysis), diabetes, wound care, alcohol withdrawal, substance use disorders, various GI disorders, coagulopathies, bariatric care, infectious disease, and many other acute health issues. Many of our patients come to us directly from the ICU or the emergency department, at times creating the atmosphere of a medical step-down unit. We also have patients admitted to us from ICUs in outlying community hospitals throughout Vermont and northern New York. On-call: Not required Requirements: Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. ADN required, BSN preferred. Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
